Summary The Production Planner plans, schedules, and expedites production order details to correlate with production floor schedules and capacities, in conjunction with finished goods inventory, raw material and customer demands. Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for planning and managing the stock production schedules to ensure timely completion of all customer orders Analyzes sale order demands which include, but not limited to, release dates and backorders, material equipment, and production order date changes Reviews system generated reports to obtain information, such as material status, production progress, sales forecasts, and distribution requirements Assigns priorities in the Daily Schedule Tool to effectively communicate with the production floor and Customer Service Department regarding defining which product and quantity to produce with completion dates assigned Works closely with Production Supervisors, Buyers, and Quality Assurance in executing the daily schedule to achieve and constantly maintain a high degree customer satisfaction and productivity Monitors and reviews information in the Automatic Replenishment System to maintain the optimum levels of material needed Researches material shortages and production planning deficiencies while developing countermeasures to prevent further situations Identifies and resolves production planning issues and monitors work in process for accuracy of all work orders, regardless of status Sets up data for system applications as related to production planning and Pull System material flow to accommodate work order reporting, material requisitions, and inventory accuracy Reviews weekly preventative maintenance schedules and interacts with other planners and manufacturing departments to correctly assess impact on daily schedules and/or customer service Initiates transactions in all computer applications accurately Participates in continuous improvement activities and safety initiatives as assigned Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor.
