Key Responsibilities:
Inventory monitoring for pulp and paper business
Interfacing with Mill, Supply Chain and Contractor resources on machine scheduling for roll flow to customers and to off-site warehouse via rail transportation
Monitoring and updating rail car inbound yard report for pulp and paper
Contract coordinator for the 3rd party rail switching contracting provider.
Preplanning for mill outages to balance mill resources as it relates to pulp and paper transportation/feeding needs for rail transportation.
Cross functional training for planning and transportation to develop skills in multiple areas.
Monitoring and interfacing with key business resources with CSX and NS representatives
Participate in Edge Cycle Counts yearly.
Conduct outage planning, these are done twice a year.
Monitor car ordering and pipeline for demand requirements.
Advising mill on track conditions and needed preventative track maintenance.
Proactive communications with all stakeholders involved with rail traffic
Outbound/finished product: customer service, replenishment planning, rail service procurement
Inbound:
raw material purchasing, pulp and fiber sourcing, wood racks, chemical cars etc.
Willingness and capability to use technology for enhanced data processing and proactive analytics.
Minimum Qualifications:
Working knowledge in Excel, Word, Power Point
Strong organizational, communication and follow-up skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis, plus available for weekend/holiday consultation as needed.
Must be a team player.
High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior knowledge of SAP and Omega PPR
Proficient in Excel, Work, Power Point
Previous logistics experience to include inventory management and rail logistics
Starting salary mid $60,000/yr to high $60,000/yr depending on qualifications and relevant experience
