Job Purpose:
Maintains production capacity by determining,monitoring, and updating production priorities; managingstaff;
Duties:
- Accomplishes production planning human resourceobjectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training,assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and discipliningemployees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring,appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewingcompensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
- Achievesproduction planning operational objectives by contributingproduction planning information and recommendations to strategicplans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans;implementing production, productivity, quality, andcustomer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits;identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementingchange.
- Meets production planning financial objectives byforecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; schedulingexpenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Determines production priorities by reviewing customer orders andrequirements and production schedules; analyzing equipment,materials, and employee availability; coordinating schedules withsales and warehousing.
- Resolves production scheduling problems byanalyzing reports; developing solutions.
- Provides managementcontrol information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizingproduction data and trends.
- Updates production priorities byreviewing production output and new requirements.
- Updates jobknowledge by participating in educational opportunities; readingprofessional publications; maintaining personal networks;participating in professional organizations.
