The Demand Specialist plays a critical role in our organization’s supply chain management, developing comprehensive demand forecasts and driving collaborative planning processes. This strategic position is responsible for analyzing customer purchasing trends, developing precise outbound predictions, and working cross-functionally to optimize our inventory management and sales strategies. Role Specifics:
Demand Forecasting and Analysis (40%) + Develops rolling 18-month unit demand forecasts. + Analyzes historical and current Point of Sale (POS) trends. + Incorporates business intelligence on new items and promotional plans. + Utilizes statistical forecasting techniques. Collaborative Forecasting (20%) + Facilitates monthly forecast collaboration meetings. + Maintains consensus-based item-level unit forecasts. + Engages with sales team business partners. + Prepares analytical reports and recommendations. Forecast Performance Management (15%) + Analyzes forecast accuracy and results. + Conducts root cause analysis for forecast variations. + Implementscorrective actions to improve forecast reliability. System and Process Development (10%)
- Participates in system development and enhancement projects.
- Collaborates with supply chain and IT departments to improve forcasting capabilities.
- Optimizes forecasting processes, tools, and methodologies. Cross-Functional Support (10%)
- Communicates forecast insights across departments.
- Supports strategic planning initiatives.
- Responds to ad-hoc analytical requests.
- Maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders. - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics, or related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in demand planning, forecasting, or similar role. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in statistical forecasting techniques.
- Proficiency with
Microsoft Office Suite:
Skilled in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with time-series analysis and forecast model calibration.
- Familiarity with enterprise forecasting systems.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation and facilitation skills.
- A valid Driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience required (3 years preferred; Does not include time on learner’s permits). Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience in tire or automotive parts distribution.
- Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytics.
- Experience with advanced data visualization tools. Work Environment
- This is a fast-paced and dynamic operating environment.
- Most of the time is spent sitting, constantly viewing monitors in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move around. There may be occasions to move or lift light articles.
- This role is based in our headquarters office in Dunwoody, GA and requires a strong in-person presence.
- Must be able to travel up to 10%.
