Position Overview:

As a Logistics Operations Analyst, you will strategically coordinate our Domestic Logistics team to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of tasks. You will be the go-to person for critical decision-making and issue resolution regarding carrier planning and capacity needs. Your role will involve deploying cost efficiency and optimization strategies, reviewing and approving non-contracted rates, and building strong relationships with our core carriers, distribution centers, and vendor base.

Key Responsibilities:
Proactive Issue Resolution:

Identify, communicate, and resolve issues related to planning and securing capacity for 55,000 annual loads to 12 distribution centers and cross-dock operations.

Carrier Liaison:

Act as the liaison to AutoZone’s 60+ truckload providers, ensuring 98% on-time pick-up and delivery across 400+ lanes and 200+ vendors.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities within the entire logistics network.

Continuous Improvement:

Analyze, propose, and implement solutions for process, cost, service, and efficiency improvements.

Carrier Performance Management:

Ensure carrier performance meets internal expectations and resolve ongoing issues.

Strategic Decision Making:

Make transportation and volume commitment decisions that positively impact network design and performance.

Rate Negotiation:

Negotiate rate agreements with carriers, reconcile established rate levels, and seek out new carriers for competitive rates.

Annual Carrier RFP:

Conduct comprehensive annual carrier RFP in partnership with the manager and third-party providers.

Budget Management:

Ensure the Domestic Logistics Programs budget is achieved and manage logistics P&Ls effectively.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:

Ensure the frontline team achieves their goals and meets day-to-day operational needs for load planning.

Performance Monitoring:

Continuously monitor team performance and develop additional skills and abilities.

Coaching and Support:

Provide leadership, management, coaching, and support to the team.

Education and Experience:
Required:

Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and advanced formulas. Proven proactive approach to issue resolution. Two years of experience in logistics and/or customer service. Strong organization and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred:

Four-year college degree in Transportation Logistics or Supply Chain Management. Four years of experience in the logistics/transportation industry with shippers and/or carriers. Proven negotiation skills. At least two years of experience leading people. Effective analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to envision and implement new concepts/strategies.
