D7 PNEUMATICS LLC

is seeking a qualified and safety-focused Fire Boss to oversee the inspection and safety compliance of our underground mining division operations. The ideal candidate will ensure the working environment is safe from hazardous gases, unsafe ground conditions, and other potential dangers prior to the start of mining shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct pre-shift and on-shift inspections of underground workings as required by MSHA and company safety regulations. Identify and report hazardous conditions such as gas build-up, roof instability, water accumulation, or ventilation issues. Maintain accurate records of daily inspections and safety checks. Enforce safety protocols and ensure that crews adhere to operational safety procedures. Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and miners to resolve safety issues and improve underground safety conditions. Initiate evacuation or emergency procedures when necessary. Provide mentorship and guidance to miners on safety best practices. Stay current with all federal, state, and company mining safety regulations.

Qualifications:

Valid and current Fire Boss Certification for Alabama. Minimum of 5 years of underground mining experience, with at least 2 years in a safety or inspection role. In-depth knowledge of mine gases, ventilation systems, and ground control. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to work in confined, dark, and physically demanding environments. Familiarity with MSHA regulations and reporting requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

First Aid and Emergency Response Training Experience with digital inspection/reporting tools Supervisory or training experience in underground mining operations
