Job Description:

The Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, is currentlyseeking a Development Director to give leadership, direction, andsupport of fundraising campaigns. This position involves managingindividual and corporate gifts, special events, and annualcampaigns. If you have experience in non-profit fundraising anddevelopment including special event management, we encourage you toapply.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan, includingcultivating individual, corporate, and foundation donors, as wellas exploring new avenues for fundraising opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders,including current and potential donors, community leaders, andcorporate partners. Collaborate with the executive team and board members todevelop strategic fundraising initiatives, campaigns, andevents. Manage and steward a portfolio of existing donors, ensuringtimely donor recognition and engagement. Research and identify prospective donors, preparing compellingproposals and presentations to secure financial support. Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events,managing event logistics and volunteer engagement. Prepare regular progress reports and analyze fundraising datato evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and identify areas forimprovement. Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in nonprofitfundraising, incorporating innovative approaches to enhance ourdevelopment efforts.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalentexperience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, development,or a related role, preferably within a nonprofit organization. Demonstrated track record of successfully securing major giftsand developing sustainable donor relationships. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the abilityto effectively engage and inspire a wide range ofstakeholders. Proven experience in creating and executing successfulfundraising campaigns and events. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability tomultitask and manage competing priorities.
