Full-time About Carol House Quick Fix Pet Clinic Carol House Quick Fix Pet Clinic (CHQFPC) is a successful high-volume, low-cost veterinary clinic providing affordable spay/neuter and wellness services to thousands of pets for thirteen year. We are a mission-driven nonprofit that exists to reduce pet overpopulation, support families, and prevent unnecessary suffering. Through community outreach, education, and compassionate care, we are working to keep pets healthy, safe, and home—especially in underserved communities. Position Summary The Director of Development will be responsible for designing a program from the ground up. Further, the ideal candidate will be able to develop a social media presence and create messages that will attract donors. This person will lead efforts to substantially increase contributed income through individual major gifts, annual giving, corporate and foundation support, special events, and donor stewardship. Additionally, this position will play a key role in enhancing the Clinic’s visibility through clear, compelling communications and community engagement. The ideal candidate is a strategic, relationship-driven professional with demonstrated success in fundraising and strong storytelling instincts. Key Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute a multi-channel development plan to grow annual revenue and diversify the Clinic’s donor base. Build and manage a portfolio of individual major donors and prospects, focusing on cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Design and manage donor stewardship and recognition programs that deepen relationships and increase retention. Lead efforts to secure and grow corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and philanthropic partnerships. Events & Campaigns Oversee planning and execution of the annual gala and other fundraising events, in partnership with staff, board, and volunteers. Coordinate annual fundraising appeals, including Give STL Day and year-end campaigns. Communications & Outreach Create messaging and materials that tell the Clinic’s story and amplify its impact. Support donor-facing communications, including newsletters, email campaigns, and social media content related to fundraising. Ensure consistent, mission-aligned messaging across platforms and audiences. Collaboration & Organizational Leadership Consult with the Executive Director to engage board members, major donors, and new prospects in fundraising efforts. Attract new board members who can contribute skills and financials support Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in nonprofit development, with a strong track record in individual giving, major gifts, and donor cultivation. Experience managing special events and annual campaigns. Strong writing and storytelling skills, with experience developing donor communications and marketing materials. Proven ability to build authentic relationships and engage a variety of stakeholders. Highly organized, self-directed, and results-oriented. Comfort with CRM systems and donor databases (Little Green Light or similar preferred). Passion for animal welfare, public health, or community-focused work is a plus. Communications, marketing, or public relations background strongly preferred.
Compensation & Benefits Salary Range:
