Job Description

Executive Director 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Ridgeland, MS Catholic Charities, lnc. Full-Time, Exempt The Executive Director has primary responsibility for the planning, management and execution of all operational functions according to the strategic priorities approved bythe board, including: accounting and finance, human resources, fund development and marketing. The Executive Director is responsible for agency advocacy for public policies consistent with Catholic Social Teaching. Primary Roles & Responsibilities will include:

ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP

Work closely with the Board of Directors in implementing the strategic plan of the organization and further developing the vision and plan Draft policies for the approval ofthe Board and prepare procedures to implement the policies; review existing policies as required and recommend changes to the Board as appropriate Conduct official correspondence on behalf of, and jointly with the Board as appropriate Manage the workflow offull-time management staff, ensuring that key performance measures are met Foster effective team work between the Board, the Management Stall and the Executive Director, as weil as full and part-time staff Act as a professional advisor to the Board of Directors in all aspects ofthe organization’s activities, providing regular Organizational, Fundraising, Marketing, Financial and Administrative reports

FUND DEVELOPMENT

Draft and execute an annual fund development plan, encompassing individual giving, and private and corporate foundations; and including direct appeal donation campaigns, donor cultivation and stewardship, and special event components. Engage the Board in the creation and execution ofthe plan and activities. Cultivate and sustain long-term relationships with core and potential public sector funding sources, ensuring the organization’s compliance with funder guidelines, as weil as advancing funder engagement and grant revenue increases

MARKETING

Lead the overall planning and budgeting of marketing initiatives designed to expand and engage funders and donors. In conjunction with the

Development Director:

o Develop marketing plans, initiatives and campaigns designed to expand the vision of the Agency o Implement the rollout of marketing campaigns, evaluate their success and adjust for subsequent campaigns o Manage the content in the various marketing vehicles: web site, program information guide, and advertising Expand and raise general awareness of the Agency

ADMINISTRATIVE AND HR MANAGEMENT

Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including program oversight, workflow systems and infrastructure and where appropriate, coaching and mentoring staff Uphold the HR policies of the organization in daily operations, and ensure that the Agency remains compliant to all relevant laws and regulations effecting the HR function Liaise with legal counsel where required Secure agreements and manage relationships with all funders and donors related to operational functions Maintain a close working relationship with the Management staffto ensure on-going communication and co-ordination of tasks, especially in areas of overlap of responsibilities

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Lead the budgeting process, working in collaboration with the Finance Director and soliciting input from all departments Ensure all funder / government regulatory obligations concerning financial reporting, grants, tax collection and remittances are met Ensure that bookkeeping systems are regularly updated Liaise with Budget Analysts and auditors to ensure timely production of financial reports Manage payroll, invoicing, and banking Manage the annual audit

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate should have a master’s degree in social work or related field and 5 to 7 years of experience in a senior management role at a small or medium size not-for-profit social service or mental health agency, or similar background in not-for-profit management. A practicing Catholic is preferred. A candidate should have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas: Leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit social service or mental health organizations Human resources and volunteer management Financial management and accounting, with ability to promote financial sustainability Project management Grant writing and Fund Development, with ability to cultivate major gifts Marketingmanagement, including social media platforms Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to foster a collaborative and diverse work environment Knowledgeable of Catholic Social Teaching SALARY Salary commensurate with the successful candidate’s level of experience
