Executive Director 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Siler City, NC 27344 • Hybrid work Job Overview CORE is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director (ED) to lead the organization through the next levels of growth and expansion.
The ED will work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to steward the achievement of strategic priorities, build financial sustainability, and expand CORE’s reach and impact. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of community leadership development, racial equity, and systems change work in Chatham County by guiding the organization towards the vision of community governance, leading with the organizational values, developing leaders, strengthening community partnerships, and increasing CORE’s visibility. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Organizational Development Lead the development and execution of CORE’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Board. Ensure CORE remains financially sustainable, expanding organizational revenue, developing and managing budgets to support long-term growth. Oversee compliance with state and federal regulations and maintain best practices in nonprofit management. Oversee the alignment of organizational decision-making and organizing practices with the community governance model Financial viability, Fundraising & Resource Development Diversify and expand revenue streams, including grants, individual giving, and partnerships. Cultivate relationships with funders and community stakeholders to build financial sustainability. Oversee donor engagement strategies and fundraising campaigns Support board member external solicitation strategies and goals Develop an annual budget with sufficient resources to ensure the financial health of the organization. Work with the Board of Directors and staff to prepare an annual operating budget and ensure budget oversight and management Responsible for the fiscal integrity of CORE, including adherence to approved financial and state policies and through prudent fiscal management which ensures the accurate and timely reporting of all required legal, financial, and funding data Oversee the third party review conducted by an independent certified public accountant Oversee and assist in preparation and filing of the organization’s Form 990 with the IRS Community Engagement & Advocacy Represent CORE in public forums, fostering relationships with nonprofits, government agencies, and local organizations. Collaborate with Program Director to elevate CORE’s presence and brand on social media. Oversee organizational events, such as the annual Juneteenth Festival, to amplify CORE’s mission. Team Development & Board Collaboration Ensure the organization has a values-based practice across all of its functions. Build and nurture a high-performing team, ensuring staff development and retention. Maintain Board alignment with community governance model, ensuring appropriate administrative oversight and engagement with organizers, community leadership board, and organization programs and initiatives.
Organization Operations:
Oversee and implement appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are effective. Lead staff members and volunteers in meeting organizational objectives Ensure that all HR processes are executed timely and accurately including policies, payroll, insurance and compliance requirements Review and approve all contracts, notes and agreements, and other instruments made or entered into on behalf of CORE Develop appropriate and inclusive partnerships with member agencies, other community funders and organizations and the business community to further the mission of the United Way as a community solutions provider. Job Type:
Part-time Pay:
$50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
