Development Director Mosaic Community Development Center 411 Clay Ave, Jeannette, PA 15644 Job Summary The Development Director plays a crucial role in driving the fundraising efforts and strategic initiatives of our organization. This position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies, managing donor relationships, and overseeing all aspects of development operations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional skills in relationship management and event planning.

Top Responsibilities Fundraising:

Identify major donors and opportunities through prospect research. Lead and manage efforts in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, focusing on building meaningful relationships while maintaining a portfolio of major gift prospects. Collaborate with leadership to identify funding priorities and align donor strategies. Prepare and present compelling proposals and cases for support. Plan, execute, and support fundraising events to engage current and prospective donors. Oversee aspects of the annual fund, ensuring goals are met or exceeded. Coordinate donation processing and acknowledgment, maintaining donor satisfaction and retention.

Networking:

Develop and implement strategies to identify and cultivate relationships with volunteers, converting them into engaged donors. Build a network of potential supporters and advocates within the community. Represent the organization by attending and actively participating in networking events and community engagement opportunities to build relationships and promote the mission.

Grants:

Assist the Executive Director with grant applications, reporting, and research. Leverage this role as an opportunity for growth in grant development and management.

Administrative Duties:

Analyze data to produce reports detailing progress, trends, and outcomes. Ensure accurate and timely record keeping. Enhance stewardship efforts by preparing personalized acknowledgments to recognize donor contributions and foster continued engagement General Support to the

Executive Director:

Provide administrative and strategic support to the Executive Director in their fundraising and donor engagement efforts. Act as a liaison between the Executive Director and key stakeholders, ensuring efficient communication and follow-up. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising within the non-profit sector, with demonstrated success in cultivating and securing major gifts. Outgoing and dynamic personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to inspire donors and stakeholders. Enthusiasm for driving the growth of a small non-profit organization by passionately promoting its mission, vision, and story. Proven ability to “sell” the organization’s story, values, and impact to donors, volunteers, and the broader community. Strong focus on donor stewardship and cultivation, with the ability to build long-term, meaningful relationships. Bachelor’s degree in fundraising, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred but not required). Proficiency in fundraising CRM platforms and tools (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) and familiarity with donor analytics. Self-motivated with a track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals. Ability to work collaboratively with leadership, volunteers, and other team members to align fundraising strategies with organizational objectives.
