Job Statement
To perform those functions necessary for the daily operations, monitoring, and exception processing of the

CIS, AMI

Head End, and MDMS applications. This includes the configuration of these systems and editing data within to ensure the accuracy of data used for billing, products and services.
Essential Duties
Monitors the AMI network communications and data collections.
Resolves daily error reports generated by the MDMS application.
Resolves data and communication error reports generated by the AMI Head End System (HES).
Initiates work orders and coordinates field investigations with service personnel for devices with communication errors.
Installs, exchanges, removes, and reverses metering devices in the CIS system.
Analyzes data used for billing, products, and services for accuracy and that the data reflects true operational characteristics.
Monitors systems for accurate and timely data gathering.
Analyzes consumption patterns to identify metering reading discrepancies.
Assists with the defining and coordinating of test cases for device exchanges.
Maintains reports and alarms for data validation, exception processing, and troubleshooting efforts.
Participates in cross-functional projects involving but not limited to the

CIS, AMI

HES, and MDMS or any other system that requires data from the AMI systems.
Gathers information from business users needed to develop and maintain training documentation for the AMI and MDMS applications.
Resolves missing reading data issues from individual accounts and perform data extraction/imports from various systems.
Assists system implementors when they are installing and testing new systems and applications. This includes identifying problems and working with developers to resolve system issues.
Assists with the remote reconnection/disconnection of meters which fail due to communication issues during and after business hours.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Education/ Training/Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, with a concentration in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT is preferred. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.

Experience/Skills:

Two (2) years’ experience required to include device management and utility enterprise application interfacing between the CIS system and third party systems such as an AMI/MDM system.
In lieu of degree, six (6) years required experience to include device management and utility enterprise application interfacing between the CIS system and third party systems such as an AMI/MDM system.

Equipment:

personal computer, telephone, copier, and printers.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

Work is performed in a sedentary office environment requiring repetitive work at a computer keyboard.

Other Responsibilities:

Collaborates with Network Administrator, Information Security Administrator, Network Technicians, developers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to establish requirements as well as resolve system issues as they occur. Works both independently and as a member of a team in the design, selection, and deployment of various technologies, hardware, and programs.

Other Considerations:

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and to communicate technical requirements and terminology to non-technical users required. Must also be able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment. Requires working extended hours as necessary to resolve problems including hours outside of the normal business operating hours. Also, some work during weekends and holidays particularly during project implementations and system upgrades.
