Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist for our facility located in Blytheville, AR. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Continuous Improvement Specialist will be responsible for detailing and improving processes in operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy. Prepare work instructions for all key processes. Build and maintain a controlled library of the same. Benchmark team performance in all processes and, considering impact to productivity, define initial scope for analysis and improvement. Develop plans for improvement in key areas. Work with teams to implement and measure for effectiveness. Utilize experience, internal and external resources to resolve technical problems. Continue driving improvements throughout all facets of operations. This position is expected to challenge teammates and leadership to achieve better results on a persistent basis. Primarily based in Blytheville, AR, this position may require travel to other Zekelman facilities, vendor visits, and trade events.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience with statistical analysis, project management and focus on lean manufacturing techniques.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
Bring a safety-first mindset to daily work and maintain safety as a primary factor in all improvement programs. Detailed orientated and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Experience and knowledge to deploy statistical tools and keen analysis to drive sound improvements. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Must effectively report on plans and results according to requirements established by the plant manager. Comfortable working with local and remote colleagues to maximize the resources available within the company. Ability to select proper external resources and manage their effectiveness. Ability to teach others effectively while deploying a balance between patience and accountability. Demonstrate the ability to develop a clear and comprehensive plan for improvement with a defined objective and scope. Able to construct and propose plans with clear objectives including risks and limitations.
