Responsibilities:
Review all relevant contract documentation for quality requirements and prepare quality plans as required. Oversee the control of documents and records, measuring and testing equipment calibration activities. Initiate, investigate and participate in corrective and preventative action plans to address product, process, and system non-conformances. Facilitate corrective and preventive compliance actions to quality related issues. Ensure that detailed analysis of failures, root cause and corrective actions to manufacturing process, purchased components, assembly processes and/or product design are being done as required. Ensure that quality reports to customers are issued as required, and ensure frequent, effective communication with customers on all corrective actions plans. Compilation and communication of effective 8D reports (or formalized reports requested by customers). Ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customer specifications. Coordinate with all sites staff and purchasing supply chain manager to assure the relevant quality requirements are established, measured, and communicated to external supply chain. Participate as a member of MRB. Conduct Kaizen and 8D root cause analysis to determine metrics, troubleshoot manufacturing/ business and assembly issues, material flow, project plans, production capacity, facility design and create process documentation. Act as a liaison between customers and IEM on quality issues Act as a liaison between suppliers and IEM on quality issues Creating and auditing FAI’s/FWTs (to current ISO 9001 or defined customer standards) Responsible for developing effective quality processes and inspection plans in alignment with manufacturing process and drive continuous improvement in IEM’s product and processes. additionally, provide technical guidance to the Quality Inspection team. Strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of the work environment, this includes active participation in IEM’s Corrective Action Board forums, project teams and relevant job training. A desire to participate in identification of Health and Safety concerns for all members of the
IEM Team Qualifications:
1. Experience with the development, manufacturing and testing equipment, fixtures, and processes for electrical equipment, wiring and/or related equipment. 2. Experience in establishing and maintaining a positive relationship with Quality Assurance Representatives and customer source inspectors. 3. Experience in establishing, communicating, and maintaining a positive relationship with other departments and team members. 4. Experience with First Article Testing/FWT and reporting. 5. Degree/Diploma in Business – Operations Management or related Technical Education. 6. Five (5) or more years related experience in quality and process. 7. Five (5) or more years’ experience serving in a leadership role under an ISO 9001 or AS9100 registered organization. 8. Able to think creatively, logically, and independently to solve problems encountered in manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, regulatory compliance, and the quality field. 9. Able to identify opportunities for improvement throughout the organization’s processes and be able to investigate and delegate without formal authority. 10. Experience managing quality & process operations for a plant, division, or company with both design and production organizations. 11. Ability to conduct internal audits and drive Corrective Actions required when non-conformance is identified. 12. Lead 3rd party Auditing as required for the organization in conjunction with plant staff. 13. Six Sigma Certification, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, CQE Certification would be an asset.
