This role will work within our hub distribution center, reporting to the VP Supply Chain & Operations; this role will have one direct report, working in our Tempe DC facility. You will lead cross-functional projects to mitigate defects and business waste opportunities. This role has direct responsibility to key metrics like shipping defect rate, case fill rate, and inventory adjustments.
Primary responsibilities:
Promote and lead an operational focus on product quality and business waste reduction Lead one-time and on-going continuous improvement projects, in a cross-functional environment; utilize leading continuous improvement methodologies, including six sigma principles to lead these initiatives Direct leadership of one team member, plus indirect leadership role within the supply chain operations leadership team; working closely with operations management, distribution center team members, and sales teams Achieve and maintain a six-sigma standard for defect rate and inventory adjustments Optimize procedures and process controls to reduce risk and minimize inventory write-offs due to product damage Ensure process adherence through routine inspections of team members job competency and monitoring of system controls; including direct responsibility for end-of-line inspections and checks Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations, bringing any compliance issues to the attention of management Required competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities: Growth mindset oriented toward continuous improvement and exceeding the expectations of our customers Great communication skill set (oral and written) with an ability to inspire our team members, ensuring that everyone is well informed and has clarity toward the business objectives Proven track record of building and developing teams Ability to combine observations & real-world scenarios with a data-driven approach to arrive at innovative solutions Undertake challenges and issues from an analytical and collaborative approach Ability to organize and prioritize a diversified and heavy workload Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities Must be able to pass a drug test and background check aligned with state and federal laws and within company and accreditation standards Required certifications, licenses, education, and experience: 5+ years of continuous improvement experience in a distribution environment SAP inventory management & warehouse management experience Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement certification Preferred education, competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities: Forklift certification and associated safety training 3+ years of specialty pharmaceutical distribution experience Physical demands and work environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
