JOB SUMMARY
The Ambulatory Operations Analyst will support operational and performance analytics services for Duke Health Ambulatory Services, inclusive of Duke Primary Care and Urgent Care, Duke University Hospital Based Clinics, Duke Health Integrated Practice, and associated School of Medicine clinical departments. The Ambulatory Operations Analyst is highly skilled and experienced data engineer responsible for data acquisition and development, data analysis and storytelling, planning and organization, communication and problem solving, and stakeholder engagement and support. The role involves regular interaction with operational and departmental leadership, including COOs, VPs, and Clinical Department Chairs to support statistical analysis, data analytics, and business intelligence to inform decision making, strategic planning, and continuous improvement across the organization. The Ambulatory Operations Analyst, will play an active role in enhancing clinical and operational outcomes through data-driven insights.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Analytics Support and Performance Reporting Support senior operational leadership with focused analyses to manage the performance of key strategic priorities and business processes.
Collaborate with senior operational leadership to understand and address critical operational challenges via data driven insights.
Translate complex data insights into actionable strategies and improvement plans. Data Analysis and Story-Telling Serve as primary subject matter expert for one to two domains (process, customer, subject area, analytic methods).
Utilizes established methodologies and tools proficiently, with room for growth in advanced techniques.
Conduct comprehensive data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights. Translate data findings into actionable recommendations and narratives.
Create compelling visualizations and dashboards using tools like Tableau or Power BI. Data Acquisition and Development Identify, procure, and validate diverse data sources relevant to ambulatory operations and performance, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Develop design documents for data mapping and data transformation processes.
Perform gap assessment to identify gaps between business requirements and data availability.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 4 years of equivalent technical experience required if no degree. Degree in Information Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, Public Health, Statistics/Biostatistics, or a health-related discipline preferred. 3+ years of experience in data analysis and related fields. Recent and prior healthcare experience or analytical experience as post-doctoral or research associate acceptable or preferred.
