Position Summary:
Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer’s core function is to enhance production efficiency, quality, and safety within a manufacturing environment. This role involves analyzing existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions using various engineering methodologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety guidelines.
- Stand and/or walk up to eight (8) hours per day.
- Process Analysis and Optimization-Analyzing current manufacturing processes, identifying bottlenecks, and developing solutions to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation-Utilizing data analysis techniques, such as statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis, to identify areas for improvement and track the effectiveness of implemented changes.
- Process Improvement Implementation-Designing, testing, and implementing new processes, technologies, and equipment to optimize production flow, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Collaboration and Communication-Working closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality control, and management, to ensure smooth integration of new processes and technologies.
- Training and Support-Providing training and support to employees on new processes, technologies, and equipment to ensure successful adoption and consistent application.
- Documentation and Reporting-Creating and maintaining documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process maps, to ensure consistency and facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Compliance
- Ensuring that all process improvements and new processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Support policies, procedures and initiatives in support of business objectives.
- Perform all other duties as required.
Required Education and Experience:
- Strong Engineering Fundamentals
- A solid understanding of Manufacturing processes, materials science, and thermodynamics
- Process Improvement Methodologies
- Experience with methodologies like Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools and techniques to identify trends, pinpoint root causes, and measure the effectiveness of process improvements.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical skills-The ability to analyze complex problems, develop creative solutions, and implement them effectively.
- Project management-The ability to manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
