Responsibilities & Qualifications
The Novelis Bay Minette, AL team is seeking an Operational Excellence Coordinator to work in the Bay Minette plant. The role is a change agent, engaging the workforce, while providing direction and support in the plant’s drive for continual improvement. The candidate is expected to have the ability to take on problems of diverse nature from multiple functions, departments and to quickly and accurately diagnose system flow issues, and problem-solving deficiencies.
Responsibilities
Adopt the Novelis Safety Principles to build a zero-injury culture and the Novelis cultural beliefs of Be Open, Build Trust, Say Anything and Be Authentic!
Facilitate the implementation of Novelis through assessing data and identifying improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with Process Leaders to ensure that teams are provided with the correct data and tools to improve operational performance.
Support auditing of implementing Novelis Operating System (NOS)
Support growth and maturity of Routine Management in assigned focus areas
Support business objectives and the Improvement Planning Cycle (IPC) and work with teams to identify how to close the gaps to meet planned targets.
Facilitate Performance Improvement for the plant focused on driving results to meet business objectives
Act as Culture Change Agent to develop a continuous improvement culture, where Novelis Operating System and Continuous Improvement is interwoven into the way we do business
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in technical or business area
2+ years in process, automation or manufacturing
Previous experience in continuous improvement
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training
Preferred Qualifications
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Project Management Experience
Understand and apply statistical process analysis

  Novelis’ newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing.

This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
