Position Overview:
The Operations Manager plays a critical role in managing and ensuring that all resources are available for the Operations groups while adhering to Quality and Business Operating System requirements. This position supports continuous improvement initiatives within our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and motivate employees to meet facility targets. Assist the General Manager in operational management to correct variances promptly. Collaborate with the management team to meet customer needs. Champion initiatives for continuous improvement in production departments. Develop a team-oriented atmosphere by utilizing cross-functional teams. Monitor departmental goals and ensure compliance with performance management systems. Manage customer satisfaction targets and ensure resource availability in departments. Support lean initiatives and participate in audits for compliance with TS/ISO standards.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience We’re Looking For:
A post-secondary diploma or equivalent in manufacturing or industrial engineering, with a preference for candidates with college/university experience. At least 7 years of progressive experience in plant operations within the automotive sector, including 5 years in leadership roles. Familiarity with production systems from GM, Honda, and Toyota, and experience in positive labor relations. Strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure. Commitment to health and safety standards, with knowledge of relevant regulations.
