Full Job Description Position Summary:
The E-Discovery Manager is responsible for supervising and managing the workflow and activities of internal and external e-discovery resources. The Manager will lead and execute the strategic vision for the Firm’s e-discovery program and platform. S/he coordinates with attorneys, clients and managed services providers to ensure an integrated response to client needs. The Manager is responsible for all managed services relationships and the financial performance of managed services programs. The position reports to the Director of Practice Management.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for financial performance of managed services program and budgetary performance of department, including working with attorneys to effectively bill and collect for e-discovery services Design, document, and implement appropriate processes and procedures for all aspects of e-discovery Supervise and provide direction to all e-discovery staff Provide direct logistical support to legal teams, including external clients and vendors as needed Develop and oversee research and development efforts aimed at improving e-discovery services and processes Provide consulting, mentoring and advice on project management methodologies, business process management, e-discovery “best practices” and matter management to departmental staff and case teams Develop and confirm implementation of standard but adaptable workflows for all e-discovery requirements of litigation and investigative matters Maintain proactive communications with partners, associates, and paralegals to promote Firm-wide adoption of the department’s e-discovery practices Conduct ongoing research and evaluations of developing and trending e-discovery technologies Consult on active matters for the purpose of recommending appropriate technology tools and methods for optimizing efficiencies and results and train department staff to effectively do the same Collaborate with IT and consultants to troubleshoot technical problems and inefficiencies Advise and assist legal teams on strategic issues related to the use of early case assessment (ECA) technologies and technology assisted review (TAR) workflows Assist in preparing and updating user guides, quality control forms, and other documentation pertinent to system usage and performance Support the development of end-user application training programs Coordinate activities of the managed services vendor – including negotiation of managed services agreement and regular auditing of managed services invoices Gather, analyze and report on metrics deriving from the overall managed services program and devise methods for monitoring performance and progress Ensure that tasks are distributed, monitored and prioritized among team members Prepare project budgets and timelines; provide updates to the case teams as appropriate Respond to on-demand training and assistance requests Develop standard forms and interview scripts for use by department members and their internal clients Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements and Desired Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred 10 years of experience in a legal setting with heavy emphasis on e-discovery and litigation Deep understanding of e-discovery processes and technology Deep understanding of project management methodologies Management/leadership experience and skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Accuracy, attention to detail and good organizational skills Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task Strong client service focus and ability to work effectively in a team environment Various physical activity may be required Bradley is an equal opportunity employer.
