We provide critical repair services that keep industrial operations running efficiently and reliably. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, coordinate repair services, and ensure optimal efficiency in our industrial gearbox repair facility. The successful candidate will bring hands-on machine shop experience and comprehensive knowledge of industrial gearbox repair operations to lead our repair team and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily repair operations to meet customer deadlines and quality standards Manage workflow scheduling and resource allocation across multiple concurrent repair projects Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and industry regulations Coordinate with customers regarding repair timelines, specifications, and project updates Technical Leadership Provide technical guidance on complex gearbox repairs and troubleshooting Review and approve repair procedures, ensuring adherence to specifications Evaluate incoming equipment for repair feasibility and cost estimation Maintain technical documentation and repair records Team Management Supervise and coordinate machine shop personnel, technicians, and support staff Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement Manage staffing levels to meet operational demands Process Improvement Identify opportunities to streamline operations and reduce turnaround times Implement best practices for equipment maintenance and shop organization Monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics Develop and maintain standard operating procedures Customer Relations Interface with plant managers and maintenance supervisors regarding repair services Provide technical consultations and recommendations for equipment optimization Ensure customer satisfaction through quality service delivery and communication
Required Qualifications:
Experience Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in machine shop operations Direct experience with industrial gearbox repair, rebuild, and maintenance services Proven track record in operations management or supervisory roles Experience working with industrial clients and understanding plant operations Technical Knowledge Comprehensive understanding of gear systems, bearings, seals, and related components Proficiency with precision machining equipment and measurement tools Knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and material specifications Familiarity with hydraulic and mechanical systems Skills Strong leadership and team management capabilities Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders Proficiency in project management and scheduling Computer literacy including maintenance management software Preferred Qualifications Beneficial, but .
