Director of Operations The Archdiocese of Hartford Bloomfield, CT 06002 The Archdiocese of Hartford is seeking an experienced, mission-driven Director of Operations to oversee the day-to-day operations of St. Thomas Seminary (Bloomfield, CT) and the Cathedral of St. Joseph (Hartford, CT). This pivotal leadership role ensures organizational effectiveness, facility excellence, and operational alignment across both campuses. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic oversight and leadership for consolidated facilities management and custodial operations. Partner with the Facilities Director to address issues related to safety, plant operations, and ensure compliance with annual safety inspections. Supervise kitchen and catering operations across both campuses. Drive improvements in operational policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals. Manage facility projects and ensure timely execution. Oversee event planning and coordination at both locations. Support finance teams in budget preparation and monitoring. Collaborate with Church leaders to manage the Cronin Center operations. Ensure regulatory compliance, insurance filings, and licensing requirements. Assist with recruitment, staffing structure, employee scheduling, and performance oversight. Foster interdepartmental coordination and high-performing teams. Required Skills & Competencies Deep understanding and respect for the mission of the Catholic Church Proven leadership and team-building capabilities Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of budgeting, accounting principles, and Microsoft Office Suite Strong conflict resolution and employee relations skills High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and environments Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field (required) Master’s degree in a relevant field (preferred) 10+ years of operations management experience Valid Connecticut Driver’s License with a clean driving record
