The role requires transaction banking and cross-border payments, including FX and wholesale banknote services , to build and scalea U.S.-regulated bank’s operational infrastructure. The idealcandidate will have a track record in regulatory compliance,operational control, and running scalable banking operations .Client Details This is an exciting time to join the bank as it’sscaling rapidly, leveraging a unique position in the globalfinancial system, and delivering strong performance-all whileinvesting for the future Description The Head of Operations will beresponsible for designing and executing the operational foundationof a newly launched U.S. bank with a core focus on transactionbanking, wholesale banknote distribution, and FX payment services .In the ‘build the bank’ phase , this role will lead the developmentof all operational strategies, policies, and procedures to supportcross-border payment infrastructure, onboarding processes forfinancial institution clients, and end-to-end back-officeoperations. The Head of Operations will oversee the selection andimplementation of banking systems, ensure all workflows and vendorrelationships meet U.S. regulatory and Federal Reserve standards,and work closely with risk and compliance to establish a robustcontrol environment. Once the bank is operational, the ‘run thebank’ phase will involve full ownership of day-to-day operations,including real-time transaction processing, cash settlement,reconciliation, client servicing, and operational scalabilityacross FX and banknote payment services. This includes managing 1stline operational risk controls, third-party risk management (TPRM),and service-level agreements with intragroup and external partners.

The Head of Operations will also collaborate closely with the CTOto deliver secure, scalable tech solutions, introduce automationand straight-through processing, and ensure operational readinessto support institutional-grade payments. Additionalresponsibilities include building and mentoring a high-performingteam, defining KPIs to measure operational efficiency and servicedelivery, and participating in long-term strategic planning tosupport the bank’s growth in the global payments ecosystem. ProfileThis hands-on leadership role in Stamford, CT (hybrid, 3 daysin-office) presents a rare opportunity to build and run a bankcentered on payments and transaction banking . The ideal candidatewill have priot experience as a Head of Operations at a Bank,bringing deep experience in banking op erations , with a strongtrack record in cross-border payments, FX settlement, andtransaction processing . They should be comfortable operating inregulated financial environments , with a solid grasp ofcompliance, risk controls, and technology integration to supportsecure, scalable transaction banking infrastructure. Familiaritywith Connecticut state regulations and the Federal Reserve Systemis a strong asset. This role requires a strategic yet hands-onleader who can drive operational excellence while building andmentoring high-performing teams.
