About the Role The Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager serves as a strategic leader in the Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) department, supporting Amazon operations. This remote position is responsible for managing CI initiatives and coordinating cross-functional teams to drive network-wide process improvements across material handling systems, building maintenance assets, and related operational workflows. The CI Manager will identify root causes of inefficiency, implement standardized processes, and deploy tools and technologies that enhance performance, cost control, and data accuracy. Reporting to the Senior Reliability Manager – CI, this individual will contribute to both high-level initiatives and day-to-day improvements, directly managing improvement processes and indirectly overseeing functional team performance, while working closely with site leadership, central engineering, and analytics teams to deliver scalable, sustainable results. Travel up to 30% will be required to support on-site deployments, audits, and stakeholder engagement. Primary Responsibilities Define and lead cross-site improvement initiatives based on equipment performance trends, operational inefficiencies, and risk indicators Translate data findings into actionable CI programs with clear KPIs, expected ROI, and implementation plans aligned to business priorities Manage program execution and assign responsibilities to team members, vendors, or site contacts as appropriate Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and interdepartmental coordination to ensure successful deployment of improvement solutions at scale Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and process mapping across multiple process areas to identify failure points and streamline workflows Develop and implement standardized solutions that address systemic equipment and process issues, improving uptime and operational reliability Review internal customer support requests and advise on appropriate CI tools, solutions, or project support required to resolve recurring challenges Team Leadership Responsibilities Coordinate across site teams, engineering, operations, and senior leadership to align priorities, timelines, and expected outcomes Lead cross-functional meetings to present findings, influence decision-making, and drive accountability for CI execution Manage expectations and communication with internal customers, ensuring timely support responses and clear guidance on proposed solutions Provide coaching and task oversight to team members or stakeholders involved in project implementation Foster team development by identifying skill gaps, providing mentorship, and promoting collaboration among assigned project teams Reporting Responsibilities Catalog incoming and completed projects to maintain visibility across the CI portfolio Monitor deployment timelines to ensure projects stay on track and aligned with operational priorities Track project spend and budget utilization across initiatives Measure ROI on deployed solutions to validate impact and support future investment decisions Training Responsibilities Serve as a subject matter expert on internal change control processes, including requirements for equipment modifications, process updates, and project-related purchasing Guide teams through the end-to-end approval workflow for funding requests, capital expenditures, and procurement submissions Manage the development and delivery of clear technical documentation, SOPs, and playbooks to ensure compliant, standardized execution of approved changes across all sites. Provide training and guidance to teams on internal procedures, including how to develop proposals, complete risk assessments, and navigate approval workflows Client Support Adhere to business unit specified client driven standards ensuring Customer Satisfaction Support and drive account-based process consistency to help ensure adherence to account deliverables, maximize process efficiency, and continually deliver exceptional client service Quickly adapt and respond to changing client priorities as well as internal initiatives
