. The Director of Operations will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency, performance, and client satisfaction across multiple offerings. This individual is responsible for developing and maintaining an annual calendar for departmental objectives and task queues, managing accountability charts, scorecards, key performance initiatives, and departmental meetings, while overseeing dashboards and automated reporting systems. The Director of Operations will report to and help support Executive Leadership in strategic planning and performance management. Critical to success in this role is the ability to Lead, Manage, and Holds Others and Self Accountable (LMA). Lead with clarity and conviction Set clear direction aligned with firm vision and priorities Communicate consistently and inspires confidence Make decisions with confidence, context, and care Manage people, systems, and performance Drive effective meetings, workflows, and communication rhythms Run L10’s (departmental meetings) that emphasize scorecard and rock achievement (quarterly projects) Develop and enforce standards for consistent execution Develop and maintain an annual calendar for operational objectives and responsibilities, manage accountability chart, scorecards, key performance initiatives, rocks (quarterly projects), and level 10 (departmental)meetings, while overseeing dashboards and automated reporting systems Build and develop high-performing teams Coach team members for growth and accountability Promote collaboration, ownership, and trust Tackle problems directly and decisively Break bottlenecks and unblocks teams to keep momentum Drive results and accountability Hold self and others accountable to Rocks, KPIs, and firm values Follow up and follow through with consistency Celebrate wins and addresses underperformance head-on Additional responsibilities include handling the department’s budgeting and forecasting activities to align with organizational financial planning; owning all aspects of department’s people, process and technology. Key Responsibilities Revenue, Productivity, and Workflow Management Ensure billers meet individual and firmwide revenue and production targets. Establish and oversee a metrics-driven system to monitor, evaluate, and enhance productivity and performance across all work groups. Analyze and optimize task queues, workflows, and task management processes to improve efficiency, biller productivity, and user engagement. Monitor revenue generation, client budgets, and credit management to ensure alignment with revenue goals. Provide leadership with actionable, data-driven insights to improve matter management, tool utilization, and overall biller performance. Matter Management and Client Satisfaction Oversee execution of matter plans, ensuring accuracy of matter data, file organization, matter-management tool usage, and mid-phase management milestones. Ensure adherence to firm standards in client communications, document handling, and legal database management. Lead the development and continuous improvement of matter plans and matter management processes. Monitor and report on client satisfaction KPIs, ensuring a high standard of service delivery. Oversight of Strategic Projects and Facilities Management Manage and track Rocks and strategic operational projects from inception to completion, maintaining enterprise project trackers and facilitating stakeholder meetings. Serve as liaison with the outsourced property management company, ensuring timely resolution of facility issues and maintenance requests to support a productive work environment. Oversight of Departmental Core Processes, Training, and Support Staff Lead the development, innovation, implementation, and continuous improvement of the department’s core processes and policies, ensuring they meet quality standards. Oversee and ensure completion of departmental training to ensure effective onboarding, professional development, and skills advancement. Provide leadership and operational oversight to Mail and File Clerks, Remote and/or offshore employees, contractors, and the E-Discovery Document Specialist, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to firm standards.
