Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated NEMT Operations Manager to oversee and optimize the day-to-day functions of our Non-Emergency Medical Transportation services in Fort Myers, Florida. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and a thorough understanding of the healthcare transportation industry’s regulatory requirements. This role will ensure the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service for patients and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily scheduling and dispatch operations to ensure timely and efficient service. Manage driver and dispatcher teams, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing development. Develop, implement, and refine operational policies and procedures to improve overall efficiency and reduce costs. Monitor service quality metrics (on-time performance, driver safety, customer feedback) and implement corrective actions as needed. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including Department of Transportation (DOT) and ADA requirements. Implement and maintain safety protocols, risk management strategies, and driver training programs. Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify vehicle and equipment readiness. Financial & Budgetary Oversight Develop and manage operational budgets, forecasting needs, and controlling expenses. Negotiate and manage vendor contracts for maintenance, fuel, and supplies. Identify cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality or safety. Customer Service & Quality Assurance Maintain strong relationships with patients, healthcare facilities, and insurance partners to ensure a high level of service satisfaction. Monitor and address customer complaints, implementing corrective measures to prevent future occurrences. Collect and analyze feedback, identify areas of improvement and take proactive steps to enhance service quality. Strategic Planning & Growth Collaborate with senior leadership to set goals for expansion, service improvement, and market growth. Track industry trends, competition, and regulatory changes, making recommendations to adapt the business model. Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to attract new clients and maintain existing partnerships. Team Leadership & Development Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages open communication and teamwork. Set performance goals for teams, monitor progress, and provide ongoing feedback. Promote professional growth and career development opportunities for staff. Technical & Industry Knowledge Strong understanding of NEMT regulations, Medicaid transportation policies, and compliance requirements. Familiarity with routing and dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and scheduling platforms. Knowledge of fleet maintenance and vehicle safety requirements. Skills & Competencies Excellent leadership and team management abilities. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to multitask and manage operations in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on patient care. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Healthcare Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in transportation operations, healthcare logistics, or related management roles.
