Full-Time Position Summary:
The Manager of Crew Scheduling is responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day crew scheduling operations for flight and cabin crew in a dynamic charter airline environment. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and adaptability to support a 24/7 operation that undergoes frequent changes due to client demands, operational disruptions, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage real-time changes while maintaining regulatory, safety, and contract compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management Supervise and lead a team of crew schedulers to ensure adequate staffing coverage across all flights. Provide coaching, development, and performance feedback to scheduling staff. Collaborate closely with crew planning, training, dispatch, and flight operations teams. Crew Scheduling & Planning Oversee daily crew scheduling to ensure legal and contract-compliant crew coverage. Monitor crew legality, duty limits, rest periods, and fatigue risk management in accordance with FAR Part 117 and
FAR 121.467.
Manage irregular operations (IROPS), including last-minute crew adjustments due to maintenance, weather, or schedule changes. Interpret and apply company manuals and procedures, crew scheduling manual, and pilot/FA addenda. Adapt crew plans changes in the schedule, contracts, or disruptions. Operational Agility Respond to operational changes such as flight delays, charters, or cancellations. Implement contingency plans to minimize impact on operations and crew. Adjust staffing plans for operational changes or client needs. Systems & Technology Utilize crew management software Nav Blue (Raido) for real-time scheduling and compliance. Identify opportunities to enhance automation and accuracy. Ensure accurate data for payroll and flight time records. Compliance & Communication Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, contracts, and internal policies. Maintain professional communication with crew about schedules and changes. Coordinate with HR and Training for crew qualifications, training, and leave.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3-5 years in crew scheduling or airline operations; charter experience preferred. Proven team leadership in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. Proficiency with scheduling systems and MS Office. Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills. Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong knowledge of FAA regulations (FAR 117, 121, 121.467).
Preferred Attributes:
Experience in on-demand, ACMI, or charter airline operations. Ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly. Proactive mindset with focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
