KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
Strategically plans, develops, and implements organization policies and goals. Coordinates activities of departments such as operations, sales, and international gateway to effect operational efficiency and economy. Develops Sales priorities/targets (volume/price) and business plan for assigned trade lane(s) Formulates and coordinates development opportunities between local and overseas Sales management Offers input for annual Trade Lane budgeting Steers local Sales force by identifying opportunities on assigned trade lane(s), launching, managing Sales campaigns, and driving volume/density initiatives on assigned trade lane(s) Provides selling tools for assigned lanes such as benchmarking and selling kit for Sales Acts as consultant and subject matter expert to Sales Plans overseas visits and acts as enabler for overseas Sales Establishes and agrees Trade Lane must-win customer list together with Sales and Products. Interacts on pricing with ACC/OCC on pricing / rates Manages pipeline size and hit ratio on assigned trade lane(s) Interface with Sales Team on focus lanes (provide input on strategic relevance of the customer which is related to the must-wins) Develop, implement, and utilize company KPI’s on a daily/weekly/monthly basis within the operations. Meet cost, productivity, and accuracy based on agreed time bound targets. Confers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operations, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required. Review station activity reports to ascertain data required for planning station operations. Implement and maintain operations processes and procedures, reporting on performance and initiating improvements for operations. Provide direction, development, and leadership to managers and supervisors. Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements. Expected to uphold SEKO’s Core Values. Responsible to increase profitability through identifying new markets. Comply with SEKO’s C-TPAT Security Profile. Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace. REQUIREMENTS
Dynamic and client-facing business development executive Proven track record of sales and EBITDA growth 10 plus years in equivalent position Ability to manage P&L, TTM, and margin management Broad understanding of TL Germany-US specifics in the forwarding industry and deep knowledge of Seko products (AFR/OFR) and business models; Experience of Trade Lane Ability to lead remote and virtual teams Using information as a strategic asset A self-starter with the ability to collaborate across the operations and business functions An enabler of peer organizations with innovative technical solutions Strong people management skills Demonstrated analytical skills and proficiency in cost benefit analysis and build vs. buy decision making. Extensive International Supply Chain Management and Forwarding experience. Solid financial understanding of risk and return tradeoffs. Strategic thinker in a rapidly changing environment and experience working through a technology led transformation. Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; make timely decisions. Solid verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable communicating with clients and in the board room. Demonstrated leadership managing an organization and a team player; positive attitude capable of engaging deeply in analysis. High degree of professionalism and integrity.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field Eight years of progressive experience, including four years of management experience.
Preferred:
