Position Summary :
The Operations and Production Manager will be responsible for leading and optimizing our East Coast apparel manufacturing and fulfillment operations. This high-impact role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production—including screen printing, finishing, warehousing, quality control, and logistics—while ensuring operational excellence, efficiency, and scalability. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone experienced in process optimization, lean manufacturing, and large-team management within a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role will spearhead daily operations, manage cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement to meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs).
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Production Leadership:
Oversee all daily operations across apparel manufacturing, screen printing, finishing, warehousing, quality control, and fulfillment. Manage full-time onsite production flow using a combination of direct leadership and team collaboration to maintain production goals, quality standards, and on-time delivery. Lead the design and optimization of production flow layouts, ensuring minimal waste, logical processes, and high efficiency from receiving to shipping. Implement lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, WIP tracking, standard work) and monitor continuous improvements to streamline workflows.
Team Leadership & Development:
Build, lead, and develop large, multi-shift teams across production, print, and warehouse operations. Hire, train, and mentor employees, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance. Facilitate daily floor huddles, communicate priorities, and ensure proper equipment maintenance and safety protocols.
Systems & Process Optimization:
Utilize ERP systems, WMS platforms, and production planning tools to manage real-time workflows, labor, and inventory. Track and analyze KPIs to drive data-backed decisions, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Ensure compliance with quality standards, OSHA and workplace safety requirements, and company policies.
Facility & Equipment Oversight:
Collaborate on equipment selection, layout planning, and vendor coordination, ensuring seamless facility operations and maintenance. Document best practices and create scalable, replicable startup processes for future expansions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Design, Art, Sales, and Finance teams to align production capacity with order planning and customer demand. Translate client requirements into executable production schedules while maintaining transparency on operational performance and capacity.
Qualifications:
5-7+ years of leadership experience in apparel manufacturing, screen printing, or a related production environment. Proven track record managing large teams and complex projects with measurable results. Deep knowledge of apparel production processes, screen printing techniques, and warehouse/fulfillment operations. Strong experience with lean tools and methodologies (5S, Kaizen, kanban, VSM). Proficient with ERP and WMS platforms, Excel, and production planning software. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to work on-site and be actively engaged in daily floor operations
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) Lean, Six Sigma, or OSHA certification Experience with scaling production for seasonal or promotional surges Familiarity with printing equipment (M&R, ROQ) and quality assurance standards
