We are currently seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Plant Operations to oversee all aspects of plant, facilities, and environmental services operations across our locations. Position Overview The Director of Plant Operations will provide leadership, direction, and oversight for the maintenance, safety, environmental services, and life safety compliance of Aston Health facilities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that our facilities meet all regulatory, safety, and operational standards while fostering an environment of excellence and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, organizing, and management of plant operations, maintenance, environmental services, and safety programs across Aston Health facilities. Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, NFPA, CMS, Joint Commission, and Department of Health guidelines. Oversee preventive maintenance programs for building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. Manage facility budgets, capital improvement projects, and vendor relationships. Implement best practices in facilities management, sustainability, and energy efficiency. Lead and develop a team of facility managers, maintenance technicians, and environmental services personnel. Coordinate life safety, emergency preparedness, and disaster response plans. Support new construction, renovations, and facility expansions to ensure timely and compliant completion. Partner with clinical and administrative teams to ensure the physical environment supports patient care excellence and operational efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). 8+ years of leadership experience in plant operations, facilities management, or environmental services in healthcare, long-term care, or similar highly regulated industries. Strong knowledge of
CMS, NFPA
Life Safety Code, OSHA, and environmental regulations. Proven ability to manage large teams, multiple facilities, and capital projects. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
