Job Description

Together we fight for everyone’s opportunity for a better financial future. We will do this together — with customers, partners and colleagues. We will fight for others, not against: We will stand up for and champion everyone’s access to opportunities. The status quo is not good enough … we believe every individual and every community deserves access to financial opportunities. We are determined to support both individuals and communities in reaching a better financial future. We know that reaching this future depends on our actions today. Like our Purpose Statement, Voya believes in being bold and committed to action. We are committed to a work environment where the differences that we are born with — and those we acquire throughout our lives — are understood, valued and intentionally pursued. We believe that our employees own our culture and have a responsibility to foster an environment where we all feel comfortable bringing our whole selves to work. Purposefully bringing our differences together to positively influence our culture, serve our clients and enrich our communities is essential to our vision. This individual will be responsible for understanding Voya IM’s Private Credit business and working alongside investment, client service, middle office and settlement teams to support our private market strategies. We expect a candidate for this position to have a high degree of sophistication regarding the operational aspects of private credit, and to be able to articulate these nuances clearly. In addition, we are seeking a strategic thinker who will assist us in scaling our operational support model for future growth. Our ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and has experience meeting the demands of internal partners and external clients.

Please Note:

Job Responsibilities:

Supervise a team of individuals responsible for private credit middle office functions including: funding new deals, compiling and sending deal-related documentation, monitoring lifecycle activities for private placements and bank loans, and responding to client inquiries. Track new asset types and deal structures in order to gauge operational complexity and design appropriate procedures for ongoing monitoring, including: referential data considerations, trade-related workflows, cash and PIK transaction processing and other lifecycle events. Act as a central point of contact for private credit clients and internal constituents at every stage: client onboarding, deal solicitation, deal funding, and ongoing monitoring/reporting. Play an active role in client onboarding and coordinate with sales, client service and legal teams to ensure clear expectations are set for

Develop relationships with key internal and external partners, including investment teams, client service, custody banks, middle office service providers, and fund accountants. Represent the Private Credit Settlements and Deal Closings team during client onboardings or IT development initiatives. Help design and implement process improvements to enhance operational support with robust tracking and controls. Partner with Operational Risk Management and Client Experience teams to discuss any errors or incidents and participate in Continuous Improvement efforts to avoid recurrence. Learn to set-up clients and portfolios in Research Web, including contact information, document delivery preferences and bank account information, and monitor this information for ongoing accuracy. Field client questions related to ratings, audits, incoming payment inquiries, and all other ad hoc inquiries. Work with the IT team to address technology issues that may arise, and operational-related development needs in Research Web (as well as any potential new systems to be used by the team). Understand and oversee the reconciliation of private assets, specifically in light of unique custodial and/or accounting treatment that does not apply to other asset types. Understand and comply with firm policies and procedures while performing the responsibilities described above.

Familiarity with custody cash movements, funding mechanisms and operational challenges associated with wire payments and not-in-bank assets. Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel. Aptitude to learn and become fluent in our proprietary technology systems, RDS and Research Web, as well as external web-based data provider platforms (e.g., Blackrock Aladdin).
