Population- 36,332 (2019 census) Developed a regional center for the fields of medical care and education In addition to its public-school system, it has several private schools. Higher-level educational institutions include private Berry College and Shorter University, and the public Georgia Northwestern Technical College and Georgia Highlands College. Largest city near the center of the triangular area defined by the Interstate highways between Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, and Chattanooga, TN. The role you’ll contribute: A visionary executive to provide strong leadership and strategic guidance to the organization, while spearheading the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies, processes and infrastructure. Must have the ability to identify and pursue partnerships that support our organizational growth, while ensuring our continued relevance to the health care community, the accomplishment of our mission and vision, and accountability to our diverse constituents and stake holders. The Executive Director, along with the Department Director(s) works closely with hospital CEO, physicians, staff, and C level executives on the following priorities: 1) Operations and Project Management and 2) AHMG relationships. This position involves overseeing strategic growth areas along with supervising and leading individual projects at the hospital and monitoring the activities and operations of all the business units to ensure they are meeting their objectives/goals. The Executive Director has the ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making abilities to achieve optimal organizational objectives. The Executive Director has the autonomy and responsibility to provide support and leadership for due diligence regarding acquisitions and divestitures. This includes collaborating with hospital leaders and physicians to address a variety of concerns such as, but not limited to: operational issues at hospital, physician clinic issues, patient satisfaction, practice management, patient billing business unit(s) issues, program development and providing quality patient care. In addition, the Executive Director is responsible for engaging the practice(s) in a variety of marketing events for business promotion.
JOB FUNCTIONS
The Executive Director of Operations leads out in hospital projects, hires and supervises directors, associate directors and other ancillary management staff as applicable. Meets with C Suite on a weekly basis; director operations for physician practices on a bi weekly basis; meets with Physicians at least once a month. Attends standing monthly business meetings to include operations, finance, and strategy. Responsible for ensuring and tracking employee competencies and training. Is also a vital part of the executive team and is asked to attend weekly Executive Council meetings. Ensures timely performance evaluation of immediate subordinates and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Ensures accurate personnel records are maintained for all staff members, including physicians. Supports the development of direct reports by proactively mentoring administrators, managers, associate directors and other ancillary management employees, as applicable. Facilitates educational opportunities in order to support management team and guides the development of new leaders within the organization. Encourages professional growth and fosters the ability for direct reports to improved skill set and promotes retention. Maintains a positive approach to resolving issues and implementing solutions. Takes time to listen and provide explanations, while anticipating the needs of the practices. Efficiently and effectively communicates necessary strategic information and acknowledges all communication within 24-48 hours. Supports the finance team and complies with policies and procedures. Analyzes monthly financial statements and statistical reports to develop a summary of trends and key variances from budget and reviews reports with Senior Leadership, Physicians, and Director of Operations for Physician Group. Assists in the recommendation and procurement of capital equipment, as requested. Monitors facility utilization and recommends facility improvement including construction and renovation. Monitors and ensures equipment is maintained and in good repair or is replaced as needed. Ensures office materials are up to date. Works collaboratively with hospital and practices on patient care issues and practice direction; responsible for holding all staff accountable to a patient-centered culture, ensuring that organizational goals and objectives are met at the hospital and practice level. Earns trust and respect by working as a collaborative and synergistic resource. Displays a caring and courteous attitude and represents all practices in a positive manner. Communicates and fully discloses any issues or concerns with Senior Leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Master’s in Health Care Administration (MHA) or’ in Business Administration (MBA) Required Work Experience 2 of hospital experience Required Leadership Experience Director in Healthcare Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be experienced in contract administration, mergers, acquisitions and partnerships, as well as the development, launch and marketing of new products and services is essential. Must also have experience and demonstrated success in strategic planning, product development and marketing, while operating in a highly collaborative team-based, quality driven, work environment.
