Georgia State University’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute is a dynamic hub for experiential learning, research, and community engagement that equips students with entrepreneurial mindsets and skills. Located in downtown Atlanta, ENI supports startup development, applied research, and economic impact.
The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute (ENI) at Georgia State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Operations. This critical role ensures the effective daily operations, budgetary oversight, and program administration of ENI, advancing the Institute’s mission to foster innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, and shared economic success.
Reporting to the Executive Officer of Entrepreneurship and the Director of ENI, the Assistant Director of Operations will manage financial and administrative functions across the Institute, including course operations, human resource support, event logistics, and strategic reporting. This position plays a key leadership role in maintaining operational excellence and supporting the Institute’s growth.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
Course Operations:

Coordinate course scheduling, staffing, and enrollment tracking. Liaise with faculty and directors on course assignments and student needs.

Financial and HR Management:

Manage state and foundation budgets, forecast and resolve financial issues, process scholarships and awards, and coordinate payroll and hiring for faculty, staff, consultants, and student assistants.

Institute Business Administration:

Supervise administrative staff and oversee daily office operations, vendor coordination, policy compliance, data tracking, and support for ENI and affiliated programs (e.g., Small Business Development Center, LaunchGSU).

Grants and Sponsorships:

Assist in proposal development, budget creation, sponsor communications, and post-award grant management.

Event Support:

Coordinate logistics and staffing for ENI-hosted events, meetings, and competitions, occasionally requiring evening or weekend hours.

Qualifications:
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of supervisory/managerial experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, education, nonprofit management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Demonstrated success in operations or administrative leadership, preferably in higher education, entrepreneurship, or nonprofit environments.
Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, HR processes, and project coordination.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and foster a collaborative team culture.
