Established subject matter expert (SME) for designated service line(s). Manages daily operation and oversight of the financial team for designated service line(s) including review of all Analyst-produced deliverables. Juggles competing priorities while leading complex financial analysis and modeling projects utilizing Analyst resources. Partners with operational leadership to drive tactical and strategic business decisions. Works under the direction of the System Manager to ensure strategic alignment of designated service line(s) and implement cross-functional initiatives.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Function as a leader of a dynamic, cross-functional team that serves as the liaison between traditional “back office” financial departments and healthcare operational leadership, working to develop and implement financial strategies.

Primary Liaison Role:

Serves as the main financial liaison for any tier of service line operational leadership, building strong relationships to support strategic initiatives.

Subject Matter Expert:

Recognized by both finance and key operational leadership as subject matter expert (SME) for assigned service line(s).

Team Oversight:

Manages daily operations of the financial team, ensuring high-quality analysis and reporting. Performs review process of Associate and Senior Financial Analyst work, resulting in deliverables ready for executive leadership presentation.

Strategic Guidance:

Provides financial advice and insights to operational leaders and executive stakeholders.

Performance Management:

Oversees team performance, development, and recruitment efforts, including direct oversight of Associate and Senior Financial Analysts for assigned service line(s).

Process Improvement:

Identifies cross-functional initiatives and process improvements and implements them under senior management guidance.

Financial Oversight:

Ensures accurate budgeting, forecasting, and adherence to organizational financial policies.

Market Knowledge:

Proactively monitors market trends, regulations, competitor developments, and service line economics to inform decision-making and planning.

Healthcare Knowledge:

Maintains in-depth knowledge of many healthcare financial topics. Examples include hospital reimbursement, cost accounting, capital and operating budgets, capital investment analysis, profitability statements, accounting principles, and revenue cycle management and performance development. Understands the major functions and processes present within healthcare finance and how changes in processes may affect other functions. Takes active role in development and maintenance of Senior and Associate Financial Analyst healthcare knowledge base.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED B.S.

degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; Master’s or CPA preferred. 10+ years of progressive financial experience, with significant management roles. In-depth knowledge of healthcare financial regulations and strategic planning. Demonstrated ability to manage large teams and drive organizational improvement. Advanced proficiency in financial software, Excel, Microsoft Office, and data visualization tools. In-depth knowledge of financial statements and key drivers. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply knowledge and expertise to support decision-making. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amount of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, and presentation tools. Capable of building and maintaining relationships with executive-level leadership.
