Position Purpose:

The Marketing Strategy team leads the development of insight-driven strategies that shape how we show up in the market and where we focus to drive growth. This includes identifying strategic opportunities, defining key marketing priorities, and developing multi-year visions and roadmaps. The team leads the annual planning process, sets short

  • and long-term goals, and supports in allocating resources to the highest-impact initiatives.

They work closely with partners across the organization to align marketing strategies with business objectives—using data, customer insights, and market intelligence to guide decision-making and build strong business cases for future investments.

Market & Competitive Intelligence:

Track industry trends, emerging tech, and competitor moves. Share insights and recommend strategic responses.

Strategic Initiative Evaluation:

Define high-impact marketing strategies, build business cases, and assess success potential. Use insights to evaluate and prioritize initiatives.

Strategy & Roadmap Development:

Craft multiyear strategic plans and annual priorities; lead planning sessions and offsites

Cross-Functional Leadership:

Drive alignment with enterprise initiatives by partnering with Merchandising, Online, CX, and Pro teams through planning sessions and strategy forums

Strategic Storytelling:

Develop narratives and materials for senior leadership presentations, including Board and Officer meetings

  • Strategic Projects & Initiative Development Lead major marketing strategy initiatives, build business cases, and drive execution 15%
  • Cross-Functional Alignment Collaborate with teams across the enterprise to align marketing strategies and priorities 15%
  • Annual & Multi-Year Planning Support planning cycles, helping define marketing priorities and long-term roadmaps 10%
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence Monitor trends and competitors to inform strategy and identify opportunities 10%
  • Executive Communication & Strategic Storytelling Develop materials and insights for senior leaders, including Board and Officer-level presentations

Sr Director Travel Requirements:

Typically requires overnight travel less 5% to 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old Must be legally permitted to work in the

United States Preferred Qualifications:

Previous work experience in marketing strategy, business planning, or brand management or in professional services (e.g., strategy consulting supporting Marketing organizations) Minimum of 6-8+ years of relevant work experience Strong analytical skills, with experience using customer insights, market research, and performance data to inform decisions. Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership Strong interpersonal skills Ability to lead and manage cross-functionally High degree of drive and personal ownership Comfort with framing and addressing ambiguous challenges High degree of confidentiality and professionalism

Minimum Education:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
