Position Summary:
The Operations Billing Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of outpatient and ambulatory billing functions within the Billing Operations Department. This position ensures accurate and timely compliance with payer regulations and organizational policies. The supervisor will lead a team of billing specialists, focusing on productivity, quality assurance, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily operations of outpatient and ambulatory billing process to include weekly audits of claims and statements. Monitor and audit team productivity and accuracy, providing training, feedback, and support to meet departmental goals. Collaborate with clinical departments, coding staff, and revenue cycle teams to resolve billing issues and ensure compliance. Oversee clearinghouse processes and operations to maintain quality controls and ensure accurate claim submissions. Stay current with payer requirements, coding updates, and regulatory changes impacting outpatient billing. Serve as a resource and liaison for problem resolution and escalated billing inquiries.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in medical insurance billing is required. Knowledge of third-party payer rules, CPT/HCPCS coding, and billing compliance standards. Proficiency in billing software and/or electronic health record (EHR) systems. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Proficient with computers and associated devices, as well as Microsoft Office suite. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and deadlines.
