Job Description
Summary Operations Lead assists the operations and its management team to oversee the daily operations of the collection routes to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency are followed. Job Description Assist supervisors with any necessary paperwork and is responsible for the collection routes during supervisor’s absence. Ensure efficient and safe operation of all collection routes. Engage employees to create a safe, energetic work environment through feedback and recognition. Enforce Athens Services safety rules and regulations. Reports any unsafe situations to direct supervisor or manager. Assists with preparation of daily routes, route changes, vehicle replacements, dispatch duties and other work assigned. Assists with training and evaluation of personnel. Ensures new employees are trained on general policies, and proper use of assigned equipment. Ensure efficient and excellent customer service is provided to all customers. Train and re-train new and current employees. Assist supervisors with route observations. Handles special projects and other related management duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or
G.E.D. 1
year of operations experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledgeable in OSHA, Federal DOT, and other related state and federal regulations. Must have demonstrated leadership, problem solving and organizational skills. Able to effectively communicate with people. Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree Bilingual (Spanish & English). Waste Industry Experience Class A / B Commercial Driver’s License.

Seeing, hearing, & smelling continuously. Eye/hand coordination, driving, feet (pedals) continuously. Climbing (Stairs/Ladders), standing, walking, fingering (typing), handling (holding), & calculating frequently. Balancing, bending, crouching, kneeling, pushing, reaching, sitting, wrist motion occasionally.
Environmental:
Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, noise, grease, oil, hot/cold temperatures, standing on concrete & vibration continuously. Exposure to electrical hazards, chemicals, and uneven or slippery surfaces occasionally. Works inside & outside.
Hourly Wage Range:
$26.80•$30.90/hour
Schedule:
Monday•Friday from 5:00 am•2:00 pm with OT and weekends as needed
