Full Job Description Position:

Assistant Director of Operations (Paramedic)

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM and 12:00 AM to 8:30

AM Overview:

Pelican Ambulance is seeking a dedicated and experienced Paramedic to serve as our Assistant Director of Operations. This full-time position combines clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities, supporting daily field operations and ensuring top-tier patient care. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills, capable of managing early-morning logistics and collaborating closely with field crews and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Director of Operations in overseeing daily ambulance deployments and system status management Provide real-time field support, guidance, and mentorship to EMTs and paramedics Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EMS regulations and company policies Coordinate vehicle readiness and crew assignments during the early shift transition Monitor documentation for accuracy and timeliness; assist in quality assurance efforts Participate in performance reviews, training initiatives, and operational planning Serve as a liaison between field crews and leadership to address issues and streamline operations

Qualifications:

Current Paramedic certification (Louisiana) Minimum 3 years of field EMS experience (leadership or supervisory experience preferred) Strong organizational and leadership abilities Clear, professional communication skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Familiarity with EMS scheduling software and documentation systems is a plus Why Join Pelican Ambulance?
