$85.3K – $108K a year 10 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver’s License Supervising experience Senior level Leadership Full Job Description Acadian Ambulance is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking leader to serve as Director of Operations for our Louisiana West region. This is a high-impact opportunity to play a pivotal role within the ambulance division. The Director of Operations will lead and coordinate all operational activities across multiple operating areas, ensuring excellence in service delivery and operational efficiency. Core areas of responsibility include strategic oversight of data analytics, workforce performance and development, clinical protocol adherence, supply chain management, and the operational readiness of units and facilities. This role works in close partnership with Operations Managers and Supervisors to drive both daily performance and long-term organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong leadership presence, a passion for innovation in healthcare operations, and the ability to foster collaboration across teams. Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President, the Director of Operations will help shape the future of EMS delivery in the region—enhancing patient outcomes, supporting frontline teams, and contributing to Acadian’s legacy of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Works with Operations management team to ensure operations which contribute toward the company’s mission and goals, including but not limited to refusals, drop times, fuel consumption, ticket completion, late tickets, safe driving, unit inventory, station & unit upkeep, narcotic cards, research tickets, MTC’s, spare units, accu – checks, staffing and scheduling, intranet memos, mandatory education, re-certifications. Implement the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel to meet the region’s objectives. Monitor and measure the effectiveness of processes and procedures that support the operational parameters of the ambulance division. Monitor and ensure proper resolution of inquiries and complaints. Manages and coaches Operations Management team. Enforces company policy and procedure. Communicates with Vice President and Operations Managers concerning operational information. Completes performance evaluations on direct reports. Reviews medical audit reports. Maintains twenty-four call statuses for districts. Reviews and approves payroll for direct reports. Assists with new employee orientation on policy and procedure and ongoing training efforts. Participates in Goal Planning Sessions. Organizes and participates in area disaster drills. Monitors and reports activities of competitors. Visits customers to maximize working relationships. Assists Vice President with public relations as needed. Attends and facilitates area staff meetings with Vice President. Assists Vice President with positive reinforcement. Assists Vice President with coaching and/or disciplinary action. Attends or facilitates attendance at public meetings. Facilitates special assigned tasks requested by Vice President. May occasionally work extra crew as needed.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role is essential. Must demonstrate flexibility and be willing to relocate to any operational district within the Louisiana West region. National and/or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician- Paramedic determined by appropriate state requirements preferred. Current and valid state-issued driver’s license determined by appropriate state requirements (equivalent of a Louisiana Class “D” driver’s license). Must be able to read, write and communicate professionally and effectively with employees and managers. Must possess the ability to write simple correspondence or reports. Must possess the ability to effectively present Must be knowledgeable of company protocols, operational procedures and safety policies. Must be able to drive large vehicles in normal and adverse conditions.
