Amex GBT runs a proactive security operation that combines a variety of forward-leaning security processes (like threat hunting, CTI, red teaming, and threat modeling) with a detection-as-code model of detection surface management. The Counter Adversary Operations group is one of the primary contributors of both proactive security services as well as inputs for the detection engineering pipeline. What You’ll Do You will design and build a proactive security program (in collaboration with the other Cyber Defense leaders) using the deep resources already present in the CAO group Lead and manage projects from initiation through to delivery, ensuring all project objectives are met. Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand the business needs and objectives. Assign and oversee the daily tasks of team members ensuring they are actively working towards established milestones. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by providing feedback, conducting post-incident reviews, and implementing lessons learned. Manage resource capacity and project budgets. Develop and implement threat hunting plans. Develop and implement red team engagements. Develop and implement an intelligence-driven protocol for selecting and prioritizing pen testing targets that also incorporates testing needs for a variety of regulatory frameworks like
PCI-DSS, SOC
II, and ISO. What We’re Looking For 5-10 years of DFIR or CTI experience with 2-3 years in a leadership role. Travel/Banking/Hospitality industry experience is a plus. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and build strong relationships. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure and escalate as required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to navigate the organization, collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders and overcome barriers to remediation of proactive security findings. Fast learner with the ability to quickly adapt and prioritize focus. In particular, we are interested in a candidate who is “offended by not understanding how something works.” Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and managing teams Location Arizona, United States The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $110,000 to $220,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Award plan, which rewards participants based on company and individual performance.
