Manager, Operations Management Job Description:

The Manager ofOperations for the Maritime Imaging Systems base in Northampton, MA. Theleader will serve as the Operations Lead responsible for all strategicand daily execution of the operations team, managing shop floorsupervisors and 95 floor associates. This manager will be responsiblefor ensure that all shop floor operations are completed on time andon-budget with the support of a cross functional team ofManufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Production Planning, QualityAssurance, Continuous Improvement, EH&S, and Facilities. This individualwill report directly to the site operations leader leader and havedotted-line reporting to the Site General Manager.

Essential Functions:

Lead multi-disciplinary operation in manufacturing Develop and implementstrategies to meet cost, quality, delivery, customer satisfactionDevelop a world-class operations team through staffing, training, andtalent management initiatives while serving as a role model forintegrity, inclusion, and diversity Drive employee engagement through:

Leader of standard work Factory Gemba walk process Quality improvementsand zero defect strategies Comprehensive, proactive safety initiativesLean deployment Mistake Proofing / Poke Yoke 5S+1 Total ProductiveMaintenance (TPM) Value Stream Mapping (VSM) Maintain responsibility forsuccession planning, organizational and talent development FacilitateOperations, Manufacturing and Quality participation in designdevelopment to identify and address manufacturability, testability andinspectability issues Collaborate with Program Management, Supply Chain,and other functional organizations across the Philadelphia SiteResponsible for monitoring, assessing, establishing plans to achieve,and presenting status of functional Strategic Goals and operationalMetrics as approved by leadership Lead the organization in thedevelopment and implementation of operating philosophies and businessstrategies Develop, implement and sustain success metrics, incorporatingbest practices, and effectively communicating improvements Effectivelymanage behavior, performance, and key deliverables across a matrixorganization Experience managing union personnel

Qualifications:

Requires management and leadership knowledge in job area. Typically hascomprehensive knowledge and skills within a specific technical orprofessional discipline and may have broad understanding of other areaswithin the job function. Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years priorrelated experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of priorrelated experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of priorrelated experience.

Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management,Engineering, or similar field Fundamental knowledge in EHS to drive zeroinjury plans with a proactive approach Extensive experience in ShopFloor Management of electronics, optical assembies, or relatedcommodities/processes Working knowledge and experience in Earned ValueManagement and/or comprehensive estimate-at-complete (EAC) establishmentand analysis

Experience in the followingfields of

Operational Excellence:

Understanding of lean principalsaround pull systems, mix/max controls, etc. One Piece Flow or PullSystem manufacturing flow Root Cause Analysis (RCA) 5S+1 Visual FactorySales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) Gemba implementation
