Job Description
The Amherst-Pelham Regional School District is currently seeking a highly qualified candidate for a part time position of an Out of District Coordinator for 2025-2026 school year. The candidate will also be responsible for the oversight and leading the IEP Teams for out of district students and working closely with the out of district schools and families in this role. Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills will be needed as this person will be working as a member of a team to support student success.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Communication with families about the referral process to OOD schools
Send referrals to OOD schools for new students and monitor the referral process. Schedule placement meetings with OOD schools for new OOD students.
Monitor IEP timelines and schedule all OOD student IEP meetings Work with the school to plan re-evaluations
Serve as the ETL for all OOD meetings Oversee and finalize the IEP document to be sent to the Student Services Office for LEA review and signature.
Schedule and attend additional support/progress and treatment meetings for OOD students
Conduct one site visit a year for each student
Maintain regular and ongoing communication with families and OOD school personnel
Monitor and maintain complete progress report information for each student
Maintain OOD monitoring forms for every student each year.
Oversight of IEP service and ELL services implementation at the OOD schools
Development and oversight of OOD transportation arrangements Ongoing monitoring of student issues and progress Support access to district extracurricular activities and ARPS school events (i.e.prom, graduation) Establish course of study (diploma track / non diploma track)
Maintain communication with HS Guidance Department and registrar regarding student course selection and graduation requirements
Monitor the provision of transition services Make 688 and other referrals to adult agencies.
Qualifications
Massachusetts DESE certification as a Special Education Teacher or related field (i.e. School Psychologist)
Experience developing Individualized Educational Plans Experience with culturally diverse populations
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Prior experience working with secondary students is desirable
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated experience working with and implementing the special education evaluation process, parents’ rights, and current special education law and regulations
