Business Manager Description:
TheMunroe Center for the Arts (MCA) is amunity arts center in Lexington, MA that rents studio space to artists and schools in the visual and performing arts. MCA also provides classes and workshops for all ages in the visual arts as well as 11 weeks of arts camp. MCA is host to a year-round gallery and numerous public events throughout the year. To support operations, MCA generates revenue from studio rental, tuition, grants and donations. The Business Manager position supports theanization through financial management, bookkeeping and payroll processes. This is a part time, onsite position that reports directly to the Executive Director.
Some typical tasks include:
Serving as the key person on control environment issues Serving as the primary liaison to MCA’s outsourced bookkeeping service, and providing them with monthly information for accurate financial reporting Paying bills, depositing checks, and overseeing accounts (bank, credit card, PayPal) Ensuring payments occur in a timely fashion for rent and tuition, and that donations get tracked Serving as a point person for payrollpany, ensuring that staff get paid Working with Executive Director and Finance Committee to create an annual budget Overseeing insurance policies Overseeing vendors (paperwork, payment, etc.) and annual renewals
Qualifications:
Skills associated with this job include: Experience with QuickBooks Desktop Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Detail-oriented Proficient with Google drive, and Excel
