The responsibility of the Manager III Strategy Execution is to lead, mentor and develop the high performing project management and strategy execution team to manage large, complex, high risk strategic projects/programs. Utilizing a blend of strategy and project management skills, managers will ensure value delivery within the defined time, scope, and budget. This role is responsible for driving the delivery of the expected business value to the satisfaction of executive stakeholders. This role is a strategic partner with brand leadership in development of the project approach while providing transparency, guidance, feedback, and accountability to meet strategic objectives. This manager III supports Stop & Shop leadership supporting multiple critical projects to improve the brands’ performance and way of working.

Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a strategic vision for the project management office (PMO) at Stop & Shop, aligning it with the company’s overall strategic objectives. Provide thought leadership and guidance on best practices in project management, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
Portfolio Management:
Oversee the portfolio of strategic projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities, optimal resource allocation, and timely delivery. Establish and maintain robust project governance processes, ensuring accountability and transparency across all initiatives.
Stakeholder Management:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with executive sponsors, business leaders, and key stakeholders across Stop & Shop and the broader ADUSA organization. Effectively communicate project status, risks, and opportunities, providing clear and concise updates to senior management.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, providing coaching, feedback, and opportunities for professional growth. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Project Delivery Excellence:
Establish and enforce project management methodologies and standards, ensuring consistent and effective project execution. Drive the adoption and utilization of the Project Planning & Management (PPM) tool across the organization.
Risk & Issue Management:
Develop and implement a proactive risk and issue management framework, ensuring timely identification, assessment, and mitigation of potential roadblocks.
Change Management:
Collaborate with Organizational Effectiveness teams to develop and implement effective change management strategies, maximizing stakeholder adoption and minimizing resistance to change.
Performance Measurement:
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the PMO and the success of strategic projects. Regularly report on project portfolio performance to senior leadership.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement opportunities to improve project management processes, tools, and methodologies. Stay abreast of industry’s best practices and emerging trends in project management. What you bring to the table: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field or equivalent professional work experience/certification 7-9 years’ experience leading project work and/or teams Experience leading and enabling capabilities/features/functionality within project management software Demonstrated experience driving business vision and strategy and helping create strategic roadmaps Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and building influence across internal teams, without formal authority Strong communication skills both verbal and writing, bridge builder Ability to understand new concepts quickly and work in a fast-paced dynamic work environment Excellent planning, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, time management, presentation, verbal and written communication skills Partner in cross functional projects and teams to design, create buy-in, and implement organizational level changes to address major internal and industry challenges. Lead and engage in discussions with leadership about approaches to analyze and the implications of different data while aligning on the results.
