Monday•Friday (opportunities for extra weekend hours)

Compensation:

$19.00•$21.00/hour based on experience, earned PTO, compensation for holidays worked This seasonal, full-time role will work alongside the Field Manager to accomplish the work of flower production for our markets. The Assistant Field Manager will communicate regularly with the Field Manager to assist in organizing, supervising, and carrying out work with the crew related to flower production. While primarily focused on supervising and carrying out work with the crew, this position does call for a mature ability to work independently. Above all, we are seeking a team member who is excited about farming and flowers; who is curious and driven; who does stop to smell the flowers; who desires to share a piece of themselves with the farm team; who wants to watch the sunrise over the fields; who, in spite of rain, mosquitoes, or blazing sun, shows up with their whole self, ready to receive the abundance of the season with gratitude. The crew at Broadturn Farm grows over 300 varieties of flower crops in all types of weather•work which regularly includes (but is not limited to) field preparation, planting, cultivating, trellising, weeding, harvesting, processing, and delivering flower crops. Our markets include CSAs, wholesale stems, an on-farm Farmstand, events, and wedding flowers. A small crew here at Broadturn, this position involves pitching in with the morning harvests during the busy season. Rising to meet the demands of each day, the Assistant Field Manager and Field Manager will work together to divide and conquer the work at hand•and have a good time, too.

Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with experience and familiarity with farming (of any kind). The ability to drive a tractor is a plus. Some understanding of, or willingness to learn, the dynamics of crop production across the season for a great variety of flower varieties. Strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate and listen, and to organize both people and tasks are essential. Flexibility, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively are of high import.

COMPENSATION

this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
