Description The Coordinator for Residence Life and Housing Operations is to provide leadership and guidance within Residence Life and Student Life. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Student Life, this position will help analyze, develop, implement, and manage housing processes, including but not limited to: applications, room selection and assignment, billing, room changes, and database management. This position will be the primary administrative coordinator for the Residence Life team. This position will also be responsible for the administrative functions involved in the student conduct and community standards process. Examples of Duties These responsibilities include proactive planning and reactive responses to support the office in aiding student success and development.
Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to the Office of Residence Life and provide administrative oversight for the office. This includes receiving and triaging phone calls, emails, mail, and visitors to the office, including families and campus partners.
Oversight of all residential operations and housing processes, including the Residence Life departmental software systems: Adirondack’s The Housing Director, CAMS, and Maxient and/or their successive applications.
Prepare weekly, annual, and ad hoc reports and analyses on housing, student conduct, and related financial data.
Serve as the point of contact for implementing Anthology SIS and ERP.
Review student conduct referrals, determine policies under review, and assign cases to conduct hearing officers.
Serve as a student conduct case administrator for cases resulting in sanctions up to suspension of housing privileges or student status.
Work closely with campus partners to: develop and execute a comprehensive communication plan for incoming and current residents on behalf of Residence Life and Student Life;
address concerns within residential facilities;
ensure proper billing for residential and dining plans; and
student move-in processes.
Participate in on-call rotation.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required by the department of Student Life.
Participate in University recruitment, institutional events, committees, task forces, and other tasks as assigned.
Typical Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience:
At least two years of professional experience in residence life, higher education, or a related field. Knowledge, Skills, and/or
Abilities:
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Experience with data management, Microsoft Office, and Google applications (sheets, docs, etc.). Prior work with housing operations and student conduct software systems preferred.
Ability to address and resolve student or customer concerns, create a welcoming and friendly environment, and speak in front of audiences.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple areas of the University.
Understanding of best practices to ensure fair and equitable access for all university students.
Ability to analyze a problem, develop, present professionally orally or in writing, and implement solutions.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment to accomplish institutional and departmental objectives.
