• My name is Tim aka ‘tidepool tim’ , I am a marine biologist and entrepreneur and we run Gulf of Maine, Inc.
• a marine products company in Pembroke (founded 2002) on Cobscook Bay in Eastern Maine.

We have a small team here and the business is growing so we need help. The title is “Operations Manager” and we need a person can do anything and juggle lots of things at the same time. Pay is salaried for the right person who can show up, get the tasks at hand done, and have plenty of laughs and fun while doing it. Hours are flexible and we have a fair amount of indoor office type work as well as time in the field…..on the beach, out in boats, along the shore as well ???? Here are some of each days tasks: Answering customer service calls / emails Printing orders and UPS slips Tending to marine life in tanks and aquariums Shopping for / ordering supplies, organizing shipments, coordinating deliveries Talking to collectors,foragers, fishermen, divers about specimens Keeping the office and work areas cleaned Driving to pick up dry ice Collecting sea life, harvesting seaweeds Holding and packing marine worms for bait Counting specimens; stars, crabs, eels, worms, squids Filing DMR reports & applications for permits Attending festivals, trade shows, events (locally and statewide) Assisting with payroll, marketing, website duties Boxing up orders for shipping Designing flyers, stickers, packaging Tending to Poppy our chocolate lab puppy Holding ‘little kit’ our wild hunting housecat Taking product pictures Filling wholesale orders Running errands to bank, post office, town hall. Coordinating customs paperwork for imports/exports Scheduling air freight shipments /other logistics Vacuum sealing seafood and specimens We dont know who you are or where you come from, but are confident that there is someone out there who would love this job! No two days are alike. The schedule is very flexible in terms of hours or days, etc. Some work can be performed remotely for certain. Don’t worry if you are not sciency or outdoorsy, all we need is someone willing to have fun, learn and discover themselves. More creativity and flexibility the better.
