What You’ll Do:
Provides leadership and accountability to all assigned accounts; creates a sense of teamwork and partnership; resolves escalated personnel and customer issues as they arise.
Knows and understands customer’s product offerings.
Accessible to customer via phone/fax/e-mail/EDI.
Develops solid working relationships with internal and external customers.
Provides weekly stats, reviews monthly P & L statements to secure the preset margins are attained and provides the tools/guidance to exceed customer expectations for service and on-time delivery. Understands Driver/Non-Driver Policies and Procedures.
Recruits Office and Drivers for new account.
Develops driver and tractor utilization analysis.
Communicates Surge Requirements to Regional and Long Haul business.
Assists in all phases of operational functions when needed.
Involved with the ordering of all required tractors and trailers to meet customer’s requirements.
Looks to continuously improve all areas of accounts from Operations to Collections.
Communicates new procedures/policies to all account personnel.
Involved with Sales, Implementation, and Operations with all Dedicated Business.
Stays in direct contact and is accessible to any other department needing assistance.
Promotes a high level of Safety Awareness. Ensures all assigned accounts are operating in compliance with local, State, and Federal laws.
Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the Manager, Dedicated Fleet. (operate a dedicated account in the absence of the manager being sick, vacation etc,)
Be sure all open/unseated trucks/trailers are accounted for daily
Track and administer the Manager, Dedicated Fleet monthly bonus program, as required
Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
Education Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested. Experience Minimum of 3 years in transportation required, preferably in Dedicated Contract Carriage. Skills/Certifications Understanding of basic rules/regulations regarding trucking operations.
Strong interpersonal skills- Ability to interact with all departments and all levels of associates.
Basic knowledge of U.S. geography and the calculation of transit times across multiple U.S. time zones.
Effective, professional written and verbal communication skills.
A high level of attention to detail.
Ability to operate the AS400 dispatch system.
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
