Director of Operations Streamline Logistics, Inc. Olive Branch, MS 38654 Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Operations to lead our FedEx package delivery business in Olive Branch, MS. This leadership position is fully responsible for day-to-day operations of a growing FedEx contracted service business. The position requires daily presence at the terminal leading a team of 35-50 drivers providing professional, accurate and timely service to customers. This position requires a leader with considerable judgement, problem solving and leadership skills to execute on the mission of the company to safely and reliably service our customers and become the preferred service provider and employer within the FedEx network. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing and optimizing operations within the FedEx Ground contractor network. Responsibilities Recruit, onboard, train and develop a diverse team of high performing drivers. Strive for positive employee engagement and retention through effective training, ongoing coaching, open communication and support. Ensure optimal staffing levels for day-to-day operations and peak seasons. Regular coaching and feedback regarding safety, reliability and on the job performance. Create a weekly driver schedule posted 2-4 weeks in advance. Create, assign and optimize routes based on truck size, delivery area and driver capabilities. Be available for the team during dispatch to answer questions, verify uniforms, ensure team has the tools needed to do their job and are mentally and physically ready to work. Plan for and make adjustments for call offs. Review post-dispatch service performance to minimize exceptions and ensure time commitments. Coordinate support for drivers that are struggling or falling behind schedule. Ensure all packages are properly scanned with positive proof of delivery image or signature. Build positive working relationships with customer staff at all levels. Timely coaching and feedback related to attendance, performance and recorded safety (VEDR) events. Investigate and resolve claims or disputes related to our service areas. Prompt follow up and case management for any injury or accident claims. Requirements Minimum 5 years of proven leadership in a operations role including experience leading a team of at least 10 CDL or non CDL drivers. Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on team development and performance enhancement. Desire for working independently without direct supervision, thinking and acting like an owner of the business. Highly collaborative with strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Work Schedule This is a full-time position, primarily Monday through Friday prior however days and hours of work require a vast amount of variability providing 24/7 coverage as needed to meet business needs. This is not a Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm position. It will require some long hours, days and weekend work, but it will also be flexible with your schedule when circumstances allow. Pay Base Salary plus KPI based profit sharing bonus.
