A Brief Overview The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the unloading and processing of all inbound shipments and proper processing of all receiving departmental paperwork. The incumbent should ensure that all processes in the area are to the maximum standard for business needs. Leadership Responsibilities This position has people leadership responsibilities. What You’ll Do Ensure that all Receiving employees are trained in all SOP’s pertaining to their specific area
Verify that area is properly staffed, and that all equipment is functioning properly
Communicate issues that prevent the area from flowing to meet daily flow requirements & resolution (when applicable) to the Operations Manager
Identify and correct inaccuracies on receipts and reporting damaged product
Identify errors within in PKMS system and following up with proper correction methods
Complete all records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Ensure accurate inventory control as needed and assist in physical inventories, as required
Contribute to the daily staff meetings
Coach and counsel direct reports as needed
Manage the workflow and workforce
Report any accident(s) timely to include any damage done to company property
Manage employees’ time to ensure work is completed in a timely manner
Adheres to all company policies and procedures
Embodies and demonstrates company ethics and values
Abides by all federal, state and local laws How You’ll Be Successful Ability to effectively motivate, engage and foster growth within direct reports.
Ability to hold themselves and direct reports accountable to a high standard of performance and results.
Knowledge of Fortna Plus System, and Manhattan WM
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and warehouse methods.
Knowledge of relevant equipment operation and safety policies and procedures
Skilled at complex problem solving by identifying complex problems to develop solutions.
Skilled at directing people as they work and identifying the best people for the job.
Able to communicate ion verbal, oral, and written form.
Able to make decisions and consider relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Able to select the best learning strategies for developing, coaching, and motivating employees. What You’ll Need Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent work experience preferred
0-2 years experience managing direct reports or equivalent training and experience required
4-6 years of experience in a distribution center required 2-3 years as a Supervisor, Receiving Department is a plus
Strong general knowledge of Fortna Plus System, and Manhattan WM required Computer skills: Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
